Outdoor Recreation

Dive into the refreshing waters of a swimming pool. Statistics show swimming to be one of the most popular of all sports. Not only is it one of the best conditioning sports, it can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

You’ll love this pool! The pool system has been converted to a saline verses a chlorine based sanitation method. This new sanitation technique is gentle to the swimmers’ eyes, skin and hair — no more harsh chemicals causing red eyes, or damaged bathing suits! It’s smooth, clear, clean and uses far less salt than is in the ocean. Enjoy swimming year round at F.E. Warren with the indoor pool, 7007 Randall Ave.

Swimming lessons are offered throughout the year for various skill levels.

Open recreation swim is also offered. Children 10 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Ages 11 – 13 may swim by themselves if a swim test is passed.

The Warren Waves Youth Swim Team meets to improve stroke mechanics, learn basic water rescue skills and for intramural competition. Parents play an active roll in the Warren Waves program.

The Spa at the Aquatic Center offers many services. Hot stone massage, couples massage, three types of body wraps, salt scrub and ear candling in addition to hour and half hour massages. Gift certificates and packages are available for purchase.

Birthday parties are a splash at the Aquatic Center. Parents enjoy the ease of hosting a fun filled pool party that is sure to please the party guests. Parent and child swim time is also offered.

Physical Training time can be scheduled for units who want to use the Aquatic Center as an alternative to traditional PT sessions. They can schedule water basketball, water aerobics, water polo, water volleyball or lap swim.

Aerobics classes that improve cardiorespiratory endurance for the beginning exerciser to the advanced athlete are offered. Work out in an environment that reduces the jarring often associated with other forms of sport and aerobic exercise.

Lap swimming is offered during the lunch hour, evenings and weekends. There are five lanes in the pool totally dedicated to the fitness swimmers. Lap swimming is free for the active duty member during these times.
