About
The Aquatic Center, which is located at 7007 Randall Avenue, is open year- round. The pool system is saline verses a chlorine based sanitation method, causing the water to be gentle to the swimmers’ eyes, skin and hair – no more harsh chemicals causing red eyes, or damaged bathing suits! It’s smooth, clear, clean, and uses far less salt than is in the ocean.

Statistics show swimming to be one of the most popular of all sports, but not only is swimming an enjoyable activity, it is also one of the best sports for total health conditioning.  Swimming is wonderful exercise which can be enjoyed by people of all ages!

There are five lanes in the pool which are dedicated to fitness swimmers during lap times. Equipment is available for use during lap swim, such as kickboards, fins, and pull buoys free of charge.  Physical training time can be scheduled for units who want to use the Aquatic Center as an alternative to traditional PT sessions. Units can schedule water basketball, water aerobics, water polo, or lap swimming. Work out in an environment that reduces the jarring often associated with other forms of sport and aerobic exercise. Water Aerobics is offered several times a week as a great high energy, low impact workout through the use of water resistance.

Swim lessons are offered year round, with classes covering ages 6 months through adult. Open recreation swim is also offered, and the aquatic center also has large inflatables that are available for use during special events, birthday parties, and during designated open swim times. Open swim is available to all ages during designated times on afternoons, evenings and weekends. Children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult and be able to pass a swim test to swim without a life jacket. Ages 13 and up may swim by themselves without a guardian if a swim test is passed. Lap swim and open swim are free to all active duty, dependents, retirees and civilians on base.

Programs are periodically offered when staffing is available.
